Summary

Through this Request for Proposals, the District of Lake Country invites Proposals for the design, manufacture, supply and delivery of two new custom Tactical Water Tender Firefighting Apparatus units (the “Equipment”), for the Lake Country Fire Department (“LCFD”).

Specification Summary: High-level Specification requirements for the Equipment are as follows:

• Cab and Chassis is preferred to be Freightliner M2-106.  Reasons for this preference are stated herein.
• Engine is preferred to be a Cummins L9, or Detroit Diesel DD8 or Cummins X10.
• Transmission is to be an Allison Transmission EVS 3000 Series 6-Speed.
• Pump is to be a permanently mounted Waterous mid-ship fire pump with a minimum ULC certified pump capacity of 1050 IGPM.

Detailed technical specification requirements for the Equipment is provided as part of this RFP document, and is based upon design and performance criteria which have been developed by the LCFD through years of education and operational experience.  Respondents are required to carefully read the technical specifications and address each requirement fully in their proposal. Alternatives or equivalents to specification requirements or named Manufacturers may be considered in some cases, as per the notes provided herein.
